Jane Ann's sampler is 379 stitches wide by 367 stitches high. The sampler was worked in Cross stitch over two threads on unevenweave fabric.
Jane Ann's sampler is a great example of a traditional red sampler. The sampler includes alphabets, border bands, the Bristol bible, and the corner motifs that that girls added to their samplers during the 1870s.
In the sampler there are fifteen different, seemingly random, numbers which where likely the identification numbers of Jane Ann and her friends. What Jane Ann did not stitch on her sampler was her last name, which was Pigg.
This sampler has been charted for stitchers. You can purchase a PDF directly from Cozyegg Designs.
The sampler has been released under the title Fifteen Friends. The owner of the sampler is Shelly Milland. The sampler was charted by Michele Leuthardt and released by Cozyegg Designs.
