The size of the sampler is 10.6 inches wide and 12.2 inches high.
Elizabeth Frances Newman [Bessie] stitched her sampler when she was living in the Orphan Homes. Her older sister's name Rosina is also featured on the sampler. The fabric is a heavy cotton fabric. This format of this sampler is split half and half between alphabets and motifs. Some of the more familiar motifs seen on Bristol samplers are the horse, the cow, the Bible, and several houses and baskets.
